I have been working with clay since my sophomore year of High School. I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts with a concentration in Ceramics and Sculpture from the Hartford Art School at the University of Hartford in 2011. I also received my Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Ceramics from Michigan State University in 2012.

Ceramics has always fascinated me, and it is a medium that is always changing, and evolving, while allowing itself to be recycled and reused. It is a natural medium and one of the oldest art forms of civilization. My work captures the beauty of the natural world on functional and sculptural work which blends flora and fauna with unique and captivating design elements and range from hand thrown mugs, vases, bowls, and pitchers, to animalistic sculpture, ornaments, coasters, wall art, and pressed work using textures, patterns, lace, and organic material such as leaves, branches, flowers, pinecones, shells and other found objects. I enjoy combining sculpture and utilitarian functionality, decorative carving, and majolica landscape glaze painting. The idea that clay and the raw, volatile materials used to make glaze coming directly from the earth is what grounds me to this art form. Developing and testing vibrant and colorful glazes for my work is a magical and rewarding process that allows me to infuse my creations with personality and a touch of alchemy.

Wesleyan Potters is my new art community, and I am happy to be here to explore and develop my skills.
