Shari Diamond
Weaving
Shari loves to share her enthusiasm for and knowledge of weaving with others. She teaches new students the basics of weaving -- from planning their projects, dressing their looms, and the mechanics of weaving to finishing and displaying their projects. She helps experienced students focus on what they want to create, work on their design, and weave structures to create what they envision.
Shari believes that good teaching comes from being a lifelong learner, which is why she continues her own weaving education. She’s completed classes in overshot, crackle, double weave, color and weave effects, Fiberworks, and parallel threading. She is also part of a lace study group.
Shari is an active volunteer at the Hartford Artisans Weaving Center in Hartford, CT. There, she helps prepare looms for visually impaired and senior artisans. A weaver since 2018, she is currently treasurer of the Handweavers’ Guild of Connecticut, a member of the Weavers of Western Massachusetts, and a Trustee of the New England Weavers Seminar (NEWS). She is currently enrolled in the Hill Institute Master Weavers Program.
