Sharon Smith-Alling
JewelerMember since 2024
Sharon Smith-Alling is fairly new to jewelry design and metalsmithing but has been long-interested and involved in creative arts.
Born and raised in Branford, she attended Fashion Institute of Technology and afterwards worked as an assistant buyer in the fashion industry in New York City. A talented seamstress, she had her own textile design studio at the now-defunct Branford Crafts Village at Bittersweet Farms, specializing in creating one-of-a-kind purses, home decor and wedding accessories.
Sharon continues to scratch her creative itch creating unique handmade metal-work jewelry both with and without beads and stones in classic yet contemporary style. She has taken metalsmithing courses at Wesleyan Potters, Guilford Arts Center, and Brookfield Craft Center.
